"We are not the dirtiest, but we are the best." Thus, my adventure begins at Barebacked, a site dedicated to no-holds-barred kinky hardcore gay sex. There is a "What's New" section that details the types of shoots that Bob has been performing this week; the shoot's contents, the theme of the shoot, etc. There is a "Top Rated" section that gives thumbs, running time, and titles of, appropriately enough, top-rated scenes. I also appreciated that there was a link to download Windows media player in a very prominent place on the homepage. This, coupled with a list of frequently asked questions right on the home page makes this one of the most user friendly member’s areas that I've had the privilege to see. It seems like Bob is definitely going the extra mile in trying to provide a great user experience to its members.
Moving on from the homepage, the next section of the site, "BBD content", is really the heart of the site. This is the actual repository of the updates, currently numbering 14 as of this writing. An update includes both the photos from the shoot, and the videos from the shoot. Each photo set consists of 100 to 200 pictures. The albums are paginated, with six thumbs per page. These are substantially sized thumbs, weighing in at 200 x 200 pixels. The full-size pictures are also good quality, although smaller than what I expected (the image set that I sampled was just 800 pixels on its long side.) I imagine this was probably done to ensure that the images would fit within the site template -- even so, just like with my guys, I think bigger is better.
The videos on Barebacked are all encoded in WMV format. Most of the videos range anywhere from 15 to 20 minutes, a decent running time for online porn movies. The video that I sampled, entitled "Dump That Seed", was well sized in its high bandwidth format at 720 x 480. The video looked great even on my laptop, which is a feat unto itself. The site is structured so that you're dropped immediately into a streaming page, but below the streaming movie, there is a link to download the movie.
The other links on the site: Live Cams, Bonus Video, and VOD, are simply the upsell sections. There's nothing wrong with that of course, but it is what it is. This leaves two sections, About Us, and Support, which are pretty self-explanatory. About Us gives a little bit of background information on why Bob decided to start the site, and Support is there for membership maintenance.
