From its domain name, Cum101 seems to be thinking of cutting a thick slice out of the first timer's market in porn. The site designers try to make it look as much like a tgp as possible without looking cheap. Indeed they've succeeded in doing this with high-definition thumbnails and professional looking text links. The main menu above is equally professional looking, limited to seven very manageable links: Exclusive Models, XXXVideos and XXXAmateurs being the most important. The link to the "galleries" is not what you think. It's the thumbnail version of the menu, although it shows you which sites the main and bonus contentcome from. The Exclusive Models link contains the exclusive content, featuring the same thumbnails you see at the home page.
The biggest problem with a site that targets the first timers market is usability, and here CUM101 fails immediately. Right away I was disappointed that you have to enter your user and password again before you can stream a video. The scenes are divided into clips with a choice between high quality, medium quality and high-definition. Both are downloadable in WMV files. The clips aren't that large at all: 15 MB for HQ clips and half that for MQ clips. The HQ clips are OK but they're nothing special and you may have to find a way to adjust the tint as the models seem more orange during closeups. The medium quality is a bit blurry on full screen. High-definition clips can get up to 23 MB for a two minute clip. It took ten minutes or more to download, though my DSL connection is usually very fast.
The links also pose a problem. In the case of the XXXVideos link, many of the videos associated with the thumbnails haven't been put up yet and redirect you to a place where you can see a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the Internet porn industry. Indeed, CUM101 also provides porn surfing novices with high-quality behind the scenes images of many of the shoots that make up their main content. These still photos are viewable in three sizes.
In a way, Cum 101 seems to act as the mother site of its three partner sites--I Cum Alone, Hardcore Saints and Sapphic Angels--and features a selection from the three on the home page. You can use your username and password for total access to these sites, which means you can download videos too. The other bonus sites are not 100% up, especially in the XXXVideos section. Though, when I went to XXXAmateurs, I had no problem streaming quality reality porn. Besides Teen Sluts Need Cash and Giant Dicks Tiny Chicks, you have about two dozen sologirl sites beefed up at the very bottom by candid sites like Around the House with Jade and Around the House with Alisha.
Besides the rather nice recent update, which features behind-the-scenes images that are actually hardcore, the only other saving grace of CUM101 is the high-definition clips. There are over a hundred video scenes, all downloadable for high-definition viewing. Action means a lot too and so do the babes, but it is my belief that the extra clarity provided by a DVD and high definition videos considerably adds to the enjoyment of the scenes. Sometimes, it's just as important to see every drop of glistening spit during a blow job as the size of a stud's dick. CUM101 is a bit all over the place but overall an okay site to join.
