At first, I didn't know how to respond to darering.com. A sex game as a pay site? What will they think of next? The login page contains the rules of Dare Ring. It's supposed to be invented by the site founders themselves. It's basically a sexy version of Truth or Dare, which makes use of prepared cards with dares of your choosing written on them. You'll also need dice and a willing attitude. The game starts out softcore and as the rounds progress, the game gets kinkier. The rules are free to see but you'll need to shell out twenty bucks for the demos.
The site is stripped down and very simple. You get the warning page, the homepage and then you go on to download the videos. For $19.95, you'll get six rings of Dare Ring. With seven rounds in each ring, there's 42 videos and all are downloadable in WMV format. Each clip is at least 100 megabytes so for less than twenty dollars you can download four gigs of softcore and hardcore content.
The good news is that many of the actors in the clips look enough like ordinary folks, so there's some voyeuristic thrill in downloading clips of friends owning up to having experienced threesomes and giving oral sex to their best friend's brother or boyfriend. But if you're expecting a hard core Jerry Springer type site, forget it. The actors seemed too preoccupied in making a satisfying demonstration of the game Dare Ring that they forget to be natural. The handy cam becomes an irritating presence while all the activity is going on. You actually see the shadow of the camera more often than cock and cunt.
It doesn't say anywhere how often or if the site ever updates so there's no sense holding your breath for the teen version of Dare Ring. And maybe it's a bad day for my DSL service, but 100 MB took quite a few minutes to download, several times slower than the same sized files on other sites.
Though I applaud the enterprising effort of DareRing.com to capitalize on this hot version of Truth or Dare, I'd have to say that unless the site is updated with better loading demos and better chicks, I'll have to give it two thumbs down.
