The Red Hot Zone makes a lot of promises that are, well, red hot. It claims to have "hours and hours" of "over 50,000 never before seen videos" from "40
different redhot [sic] niches" - I don't have the time or patience necessary to figure out if this is truly the case, but even if it isn't I concede that they still have a mind-boggling amount of content. Is any of it worth a shit, though? C'mon, friend! Let's find out -- together!
Unfortunately, the main member's page is cluttered and cursed by horrible graphic design (think eight or so typefaces on a nauseating blue background). Ignore this aesthetic faux pas and you'll first notice that the left hand side of the page links to pages devoted to individual fetishes, over 40 in all. Typical fetishes like Asians, MILFs and anal kick it with lower-profile kinks like classrooms, salad tossing and midgets. Clicking on
one of these links will take you to a page littered with more links to mini sites that are exclusively devoted to the fetish in question. Each mini site holds a number of film clips, which are available in low and hi res, as well as numerous photo galleries of average (i.e. low) image quality. Depending on the mini site you're at, videos are presented in Quicktime, Windows Media Player or Real Player formats. Resolution is typically 352x240 and both the quality of the feeds and the content therein is thoroughly typical. If low budget, utilitarian porn is all you need to get your rocks off, this is the
place.
The main page also links to a search feature that alleges to give you the ability to minutely search over 4500 10-20 minute long videos. Videos are separated into seven categories - titles, stars, types of sexual acts performed (positions, anal, oral, gangbang, etc), where the clip is set
(indoors, outdoors, in a car, etc), clothing and accessories worn by the fuckees (glasses, gloves, etc), physical attributes (age, ethnicity, body
type), types of toys used, and the production studio. These categories can be combined in order to fine tune your wanking experience (unfortunately no videos contain the use of a butt plug in a dream sequence). It should be noted that Real Player is the preferred mode of viewing when it comes to the videos in this section - I had some trouble trying to play the WMV versions of 'em, but the Real Player versions of the clips work consistently (just reload the page if you're having trouble). Most of the material in this
section of the site is from top studios (Red Light District, Adam and Eve, Sin City Entertainment, Third Degree Films and others), and feature lotsa
modern stars (unlike the semi-gonzo shit on the main page).
The final verdict? Trial memberships are only $3 - even if you don't include the over 3000 DVDs available via the search engine (which contains
the site's best content), you'll at least be able to rub a quick one off on one of the mini sites. Convenience and quantity are the names of the game
here, my friend - nothing more, nothing less.
